Revision of the Asia Floor Wage

The Asia Floor Wage (AFW) formula of 475 PPP$ was defined as of January 1, 2009, based on 2008 data. In the report "Stitching a Decent Wage Across Borders" we explained how we defined and calculated a minimum living wage benchmark for several Asian countries. Naturally, this benchmark figure needs to be regularly adjusted to account for the price rises in the cost of living (that is, inflation). On May 1, 2011, therefore, we have announced the new AFW of 540PPP$ for this year and 2012.
